Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program Graduation

last night we attended a graduation ceremony for Rachel.  This year she was selected to participate in the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.  Each month she would miss school and spend the day with local community leaders doing some pretty cool stuff.  Highlights included a visit to White Sands Missile Range where they were able to go repelling with the soldiers.  Rachel also spent a day with local government where she was able to do a mock city council meeting with the Mayor.  The students also toured local businesses in Agriculture, the Arts and Medical fields.  Rachel said this was one of the best experiences she has had so far in high school.  It was a great look into our community and provided lots of future contacts with all kinds of people in our city.  So last night we celebrated the end of the program with a yummy dinner at the Double Eagle.  Matt and I were so proud that Rachel was selected to participate in the program and for all of the adults who worked with her all year to provide such a great experience!
