Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was another day that we managed to fill with good memories.  We kept with tradition and headed out for a hike in the early afternoon.  We were lucky to be joined by Uncle Scottie, Aunt Michelle, Emily and Aly this year.  We completed the Aguirre Springs hike despite the freezing cold temps.  After the hike we came home to warm up in front of the fire and get dinner ready.  Keeping with tradition, we had breakfast for dinner.  The menu consisted of super yummy ham, cheese, egg paninis made by Matt....Amazingly delicious hash browns prepared by Hannah....and a fruit salad.  After stuffing ourselves with more than we could hold, we sat down to open presents from each other and from various friends and family.  Highlights included lots of homemade gifts from the girls to us and to each other...concert tickets from Hannah for a special VIP performance of our favorite songs preformed by her....homemade tootsie rolls, Rachel's gift to Emma of a morning at the Farmer's Market followed by a science class at the museum and her gift to Hannah of a run to Cold stone followed by the treat of her choice.  Matt painstakingly made each of us a crossword that reflected our interests.  I am still working on mine (I think it may be harder than the NY Times crossword!) and of course new PJs for the girls from us.  After the girls made there way to bed Matt and I snuggled up to watch Family Stone.
