Love and all things heart shaped

Ahhh Valentines day.  A day when even your pizza should be heart shaped.  A day to hug and love on your family and to eat way to much junk.  Our day began with heart shaped pancakes.... the same heart shaped pancakes that get stuck in the heart mold.  Every year we try something new but they still stick or are otherwise difficult and annoying.  Must be true love for our dear children that we continue to make those heart shaped pancakes, even though they are difficult and annoying.  Next year we will try free form and just deal with imperfect hearts. Sounds a lot like a metaphor for parenting, actually.  The girls opened their valentines day goodies and we all exchanged valentines with each other.  I made Matt his favorite Almond Joy candies and he got me the coffee cup I had been eyeing at Starbucks. This was followed by a little more huggin and lovin. Unfortunately, Hannah has not been feeling well lately which meant that nobody wanted to hug and love on her this Valentine's day.  Poor unloved little thing was very sad about that... she felt like a leper.  Could have also been because I continually followed her around with the Lysol spraying everything that she touched. After the girls went to school and Matt was off at work Emma and I set about finishing up home school stuff.  I spent the rest of the day helping to get Rachel ready for an FFA Leadership Conference that she will be attending this weekend in Albuquerque.   We ended  the day with a dinner of homemade salami pizza.  Emma decided that we should shape the pizza in to a heart so I gave it my best effort and we were pleased with the outcome.  We  continued to plow through every single chocolate thing in the house until we were all sick.  A little Olympics watching ended the day.   Another Valentines Day spent huggin and lovin  my family...except Hannah...no huggin for her.
My absolute favorite Valentine

Poor sick Hannah...
