Next, we headed to Telluride. We stayed there for the majority of the trip. It is breathtakingly beautiful and has so many great hikes. We stayed at a resort in mountain Village and took the gondola over the mountain each day to Telluride. The gondola was great. It is free public transportation that provides the best view of the box canyon of Telluride. It totally freaked the girls out at first when we came over the mountain only to swing out and dangle there before descending in to Telluride. Eventually though, it became their favorite 10 minutes of the day. Like I said, we spent the morning hiking and then headed to the pool to lounge around all afternoon. The hotel had an awesome water slide that the girls loved. They even managed to meet 3 sisters vacationing from Boston who were similar ages to themselves. They exchanged addresses and are going to be pen pals. We ate such good food while we were there. Crazy good Thai food at Hongas Lotus Petal and the best organic Mexican food at Cocina de Luz.
