Party Prep

Matt and I spent the evening getting ready for Hannah's birthday tomorrow. As is the tradition, I made flower shaped chocolate chip scones and fruit kabobs to take to school and Matt made the annual birthday banner. It is a puzzle, of sorts. He puts groupings of pictures for the year you are turning (10 harry potter faces, 10 musical notes, 10 roller skates etc..) and one of the groupings has the number you will be turning next year. The birthday girl has to figure out which one it is. Sometimes he makes it really tough. last year it was the underlining of the words that had one more than her birthday age. Funny story though..Matt sat down to make Rachel's last year for her 11th birthday and came to the conclusion that the older years required way too much work!! It was then that the Matt tradition came to an end. After your 10th birthday you get a regular banner with a couple nice drawings and Daddy comes to school to take you out to lunch. Hard to be continually creative when you are dealing with 11 groupings of 11 things, I guess.
