UTAH Vacation

Hiking in Zion has been on our bucket list for awhile now and in May we were finally able to make it happen.  It was just the 4 of us as Rachel decided to sit this hiking trip out and stay home.  We had such a fantastic time!  We spent time hiking Zion, Bryce Canyon and Capital Reef.  Highlights of the trip included the day that the girls decided we should hike into the freezing water of the Narrows without proper footwear.  The water temp was in the upper 40's? and it was freezing but so spectacularly beautiful and I am so glad we did it.  Also a highlight was our hike to Angel's Landing which was terrifying! All of the areas were so beautiful but our family favorite was Zion.  In particular we really enjoyed staying in Springdale at the Desert Pearl Inn. We managed to squeeze in another anniversary celebration while staying in Boulder Utah.  We had dinner at Hell's Backbone Grill and it was awesome!  Most of the trip was spent in the same way we always do our hiking trips.  Hike all day until we can barely hike another mile and then lay by the pool/relax/nap/read and finally eat lots of burgers and desert to celebrate all that hiking!   Wouldn't have it any other way. We can't wait to go back to Utah...it was incredibly beautiful. In fact, Matt coined the catch phrase for our trip.  DANG!  That is what he said every time we rounded another corner on our scenic drive through the state.
