Essay Contests

Rachel is a fantastic writer and she loves to enter essay contests. We are so proud of her writing abilities but more than that, we are proud that she has something to say and is passionate about many issues.  This year she won an essay contest sponsored by the NAACP in honor of MLK, Jr. Day.  We were invited to the annual MLK Jr. Breakfast where she was presented with her award and read her winning speech.  She also won a VFW essay contest and again we were invited to attend their luncheon and hear her read her speech.  She did an outstanding job in both essays!
