Emma's turn to run in the heat

Today Emma participated in the elementary school end of year track meet.  Each school chooses a group of 5th graders who then all get together and complete in a track meet.  Rachel got to go when she was in 5th grade and now Emma followed in that tradition.  As is always the case at these things, it was very hot....but very fun to watch Emma compete. Of all of the girls, she has the most interest in track sports so seeing her run with her usual smile was great. She ran the 400m and also ran in the 4x200 m relay with her friends. Matt was able to take some time off from work to be there to cheer her on. I think this will be the first of many track meets we will sit through to watch Emma run.....
