This morning we began the birthday celebration for Emma's 10th birthday.  Matt and I made sure that the house was properly "orangified", according to Hannah.  We started the day with all the birthday favorites...especially the "opening presents first" part!  All the gifts were enjoyed.  Rachel and Hannah gave her the RIO soundtrack so we spent most of the morning listening to it.  Nothing like a little Samba at 6am to get your day started.  Egg casserole was on the menu and Emma promptly decided that it would never be on the birthday menu again.  Not a fan.  Matt made his very last birthday mystery banner.  Next year, Emma will join the ranks of lunching ladies and get to go to lunch with Dad for her birthday instead of the birthday banner tradition.  I also said goodbye to a birthday tradition as I made my last scones and fruit kabobs for Emma's class.  This is her last year in Elementary school so no more treats for the class.  We are all  looking forward to celebrating the rest of Emma's birthday tonight.
