4-H County Contest Fun

Today Rachel and Hannah competed in their annual 4-H County Contest. It was a long day filled with lots of activities and everyone had a great time. Especially Matt. He always ends up as the designated sewing project- holder- helper outer guy. He is such a good Dad. (and obviously, quite secure in his manhood) He never complains that he is left holding all the doll outfits, dresses, accessories and various sewing supplies. He happily comes along for the ride. He really is an unsung hero! Like the girls always say "Dad, you make a great honorary girl!". Both girls competed in Clothing and won first place. Rachel's denim capris and peasant blouse were really cute. She did, however, inform me that she will never wear the pants in public because they look way too homemade! Next year she graduates to buttons and zippers so maybe then she will make pants she will actually wear. Hannah made a skirt and tote bag to wear when they play Little House on the Prairie. It was so cute at the contest when a little boy leaned over to her and said "you really do look like Laura Ingalls".

  2. So cute. I think the denim capris turned out great, wear them 'til they're worn out. :)

Case couldn't believe it when he realized the outfits matched what the dolls were wearing, too, very impressive!!
